It was a special day with the very best of friends at our favorite river spot.
THEN… we found out the river banks were teeming with dragonfly shedding their nymph skins to metamorphosis as winged beauties. AMAZING!
I learned a lot about the whole process here . Finding out that it can take up to four years for a nymph to develop and metamorphosis into a full grown dragonfly made witnessing the transformation even more spectacular.
Nature really is MAGIC!

Love it! My BIG boys are OBSESSED with creatures and metamorphosis…we have had silk worms which was an amazing and very beautiful process. What a wonderful day and event to witness.
So cool! I love when we find cicada skins. Looks like a bug just sitting there until you look a little closer. Lucky find you had!
I used to collect such larvas… The look incredible, don’t they?
