Kids Heart Modern Art

A lovely day at MASS MoCA, taking in all the textures and visuals, looking with our eyes and … riding the elevator a few times too.

The kids and I had lots of fun talking about how something as seemingly passive as a painting can in fact change the way people view the world.

When asked at the end of the day what was their favorite thing about visiting the museum —  Sol LeWitt:A Wall Drawing Retrospective was the big winner…..that and the elevators!

Love the photos! We’ve been taking E. to Mass MoCA since he was a toddler. The Sol Lewitt has been one of his all-time favorites, second only to the Jenny Holzer exhibit in the big gallery a few years back with the projections and bean bag chairs. Going mid-week when the museum is quiet is key.
